American Cancer Society is gearing up for it's 'Plant it Pink Program' People can buy pink tulips for $10 a box as a way to fight breast cancer.
The tulips are ordered now, but arrive in the fall just in time for Breast Cancer Awareness month. Folks can plant the tulips in their own gardens or donate them to the Cancer Society Hope Lodge in Marshfield where cancer patients can enjoy them while they're staying there during treatment.
The money goes toward advocating to protect and adequately fund breast cancer screening programs for the uninsured and underinsured.
As a little news tidbit: the feds just announced some additional money for the screening program, meaning many more women in WI and nationwide will be able to get screened.
