EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - 71 years ago Friday, America's naval base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii was attacked by forces of the Empire of Japan. More than 2,400 Americans were killed, and more than 1,100 were wounded.
Former Eau Claire County Judge Thomas Barland was 11-year-old at the time, and living in Hawaii.
On Friday, Barland talked with WEAU’s Andrew Fefer about his experience seeing the attack first-hand.
