Tiffany Olson was in Eau Claire County Court Thursday on charges of dog quarantine - human health risk and felony bail jumping..

The judge set a $500 cash bond.

Police say Olson’s pitbull, named “Blue”, was staying with Olson’s sister, Hollie Peterson, who lives in Menomonie when the dog attacked 5th-grader Dacia Otto. She had nearly 40 stitches.

Olson's pre-trial is scheduled for May 12.

Thank goodness the blame falls where it should - on the owner. It is very saddening that this could have been prevented by educating dog owners. A dog visiting or staying with another family is one of the 7 most common scenarios for a dog attack (according to the last 40 years of data involving attacks by all breeds/types of dogs). Perhaps important safety information can be issued with dog licenses so that law-abiding citizens can protect their dogs and neighbors from misfortune and injury.

This is a callous woman. She seems to care more for her Pit Bull than the innocent child who was bitten. And not just a bite. I believe she had 39 stitches. I would like to know where the dog is?

I could see this mess in the works when I first heard about the girl being bite.I tried to post a cmment on this, saying that I found out where the person with this maniac of a dog would reside through the WI court access. And that the people of Eau Claire should be aware of where this animal is.It wasent posted. Now the do is hidden.I drove by the place where the dog was supposed to be,the morning the story broke onlt to find a police SUV trying to locate the dog at that time. This thing could have gotten a lot worse.I am hoping it wont.People need to look at the dangers of these animals.Of course they are the nicest dogs.... to the people thy live with!!
