There isn't much time left to get your mitts on a 41 cent forever stamp.

On Monday, May 12, the price of stamps will go up by a penny.

To prevent the headache of buying single cent U.S. Postal stamps, many people bought forever stamps at 41 cents each today.

The price of forever stamps goes up with the price of regular stamps, whether you bought them for 41 cents or pay more in the future, the stamp is still valid for a first-class letter.

A new law regulating the Post Office makes it easier to raise rates as long as the agency doesn't exceed the rate of inflation.

Rates are scheduled to be adjusted each May.
