With spring comes flowers, and the Eau Claire Park and Recreation director says spring also brings more vandalism at local parks.
Eau Claire Police say they were called to Shawtown Neighborhood Park twice in the last week for damage to property.
Parks and Rec Director Phil Fieber is asking neighbors of the area parks to keep their eye out for these activities and call the police if they see anything suspicious.
Fieber says they are looking to make some changes on the grounds to make the culprits more visible.
Fieber says, "There are some areas [at Shawtown Neighborhood Park] where you can drive completely around the park and you cant see all the people or all the activities taking place so part of what we're trying to do when we design new parks or redesign old parks is to use those policing standards so it makes everyone's job a little easier."
Lieutenant Chad Hoyord says they have upped patrolling in that area.
