The Portage County Sheriff's Department is reopening a nearly 24-year-old death investigation of a Plover woman after her husband became a suspect in a murder investigation in Wood County.

According to the Portage County Sheriff’s Department, Pamela Reinwand died from a gunshot wound in May of 1984. Her death was ruled as a suicide.

Last month, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department named her husband, Joseph Reinwand as a suspect in the death of Dale Meister.

As a result of this investigation and what Portage County calls "suspicious circumstances" in the death of Pamela Reinwand, the case is being reopened.
