A fire at a feed mill causes minor damage Tuesday afternoon.

Durand firefighters were called to countryside cooperative just before 2pm.

The Durand Fire Chief says when crews got there, flames were shooting out of one of the corn cob bins.

He says workers at the co-op were welding when sparks got into the bin. The chief says it took about 20 minutes to get the fire out.

No injuries were reported

why and who was in charge of the bin(s)???? This is a feed mill and there is no reason for the person in charge not to know there was a hot spot.... If you run a mill or are a farmer you do run your driers.... but you also watch the moisture level in the bins...
