I live in a pretty busy part of town. I don't mind if people ask to leave their garage sale signs in my part of the blvd, but if people don't ask, I usually take them down. They are a pain to mow around as well. But if people ask I dont mind. I just don't like when people just assume it's okay with the property owner.

Property Owner- Did you ever think that might be down on the list of priorities? I'm thinking keeping our town safe, perhaps focusing on speeding cars, robberies, domestic incidents is a bit more important then a sign on a corner. Plus, usually a garage sale only lasts a couple of days. It's not like there are signs year round! I swear some people wouldn't ever be happy if they couldn't find something to complain about.

I wish the City of Eau Claire would start enforcing the law that states placing garage sale/yard sale signs on public property and boulevards is AGAINTS the law. Some corners end up with five or signs. Placing pales of sand on sidewalks with signs sticking out of them also poses a liability issue with the land owner.
