There are bank accounts for money you need daily, or accounts where you create a nest egg.
But in this "On the Money" report, we look at unique accounts that offer different kinds of payoffs.
Every time your cash goes into a charitable money market account, you can count on some cash stacking up for charity.
Peg Odness, of Marshfield Savings Bank, "when they hold money in their account, then at the end of the year our bank makes a contribution to an organization of their choice."
Peg Odness is a personal banker for Marshfield Savings Bank, she says the bank and its branches of Forward Financial Bank, gave $33,000 to charities last year.
Especially now with the economy, everyone is in need of funding their causes, and organizations.
She says a lot of people use the checking account like a savings account, there are no fees, no minimums, but it limits your transactions to 6 a month.
It pays 0.25% to one of 42 charities customers can choose from, at the end of the year, those charities get a check.
The bank also started the future savers account, to encourage little ones to save big.
"Kind of a challenge for them too, come in every month, earn their prize and see their money grow," Odness said.
She says it aims to teach 3 to 10 year olds how to fill out forms and experience the process that the bank hopes continues with mom and dad. "Encourage them to bring their kids to the bank, but also is an opportunity to talk about it at home, teaching them the value of a dollar."
There are several unique accounts out there. Royal Credit Union has the matrimoney account, where people deposit money as a wedding gift.
Westconsin Credit Union has checking account incentives for people who volunteer every month and M & I Bank has a holiday savings account where you direct deposit some of your paycheck and you get a check for your balance in October.
