Wisconsin's gun deer season is coming up in a couple weeks, November 17, and wardens are encouraging hunters to be safe, especially after a Minnesota hunter was shot to death in that state's opening weekend.

Investigators say Craig Rupp, 60, of Elbow Lake was shot in the chest Saturday morning.

Police say Rupp was posting on a deer drive southeast of Elbow Lake when a deer jumped up and shots were fired. One shot hit Rupp.

Rupp, the Grant County Commissioner, died later at a local hospital

Thats why people use BLAZE ORANGE! Even if you had brains you wouldn't have people shooting in your direction I may drive deer out th woods but people stand to the side cause we drive deer to a field so people stand off to the side of us
