Blugolds volleyball team upsets #1 ranked Oshkosh in WIAC semifinals
Last Updated: 7:00 AM 11/07/09 - The UW-Eau Claire women's volleyball team won their 30th match of the season Friday night, taking down the #1 ranked team in Division 3, UW-Oshkosh on the Titans home floor. With the victory, Coach Kim Wudi's Blugolds advance to the championship match against Whitewater on Saturday.

Both Eau Claire Regis and Chippewa Falls McDonell advanced to Level Three, as the Ramblers beat Bangor, 38-8, while the Macks took down Plum City, 22-0. Meanwhile, each of the Big Rivers Conference co-champs were knocked out Saturday, as Hudson fell to Stevens Point, 28-8, while Menomonie was knocked out by Merrill, 13-6. In high school girls volleyball, Chippewa Falls McDonell cliched its first-ever trip to state with a 3-0 sectional final win over Rib Lake. In Division 1, Eau Claire North fell just short of a berth at state, losing to D.C. Everest, 3-2.
