"We've all grown up playing together, some of us have known each other since we were 5 starting to play soccer and we've just really grown together as people and soccer players," says Hayley Stephens.

The Eau Claire Memorial girls soccer class of 2013 made back to back state tournament appearance accumulating a 41-3-4 record in the last two seasons.

"We don't argue with each other and try to be super competitive but yet we do train at a very high intensity just so were ready for games and ready for competition," says Ashtyn Ness.

"You can be great players but you have to be in sync with each other to be able to be a great team," adds Nicole Rauckman.

The seniors led the Old Abes to 14 shut outs this season

"It's great to be looked at like we're intimidating. We have the no mercy rule. We've done that this year, where no matter the team we're just going to play our best and not play down to anyone else's," says McKenna Gruber.

Over the past four years this group has scored 132 goals with 100 assists for a grand total of 364 points.

"Our offense is very threatening and time we're in the opponents third of the field, there's a good chance that we're going to put one on frame," says Coach Kit Schiefelbein.

Meg Van de Loo stands out with her career 81 goals and 65 assists, but Meg credits her teammates for her production.

"If I didn't have someone like McKenna in the middle or the defense, if we didn't have the defense I'd have to worry about more defensive stuff," says Van de Loo, "and that allows me to get up and attack and then with McKenna we play off each other really well."

These 8 girls have left footprints behind for future Old Abes to follow...

"I think the opportunity for them to go to state this year will help them in the future because it was a really good experience," says Hayley Hood.

"Yea and I think all eight of us are really tough girls and so I think we really set the tone for how to be an Old Abe athlete," says Jenna Sturz.
