ATHLETE OF THE WEEK : Predators peaking entering post season

EAU CLAIRE (WEAU)- The Chippewa Valley Predators clinched an NEFL playoff berth last Friday, demolishing the Eau Claire crush 52-3 at Carson Park. In our Gordy's Athlete of the Week, SportScene 13 honors a Predators team that believes they have what it takes to make a deep post-season run.

The Chippewa Valley Predators put the NEFL playoff field on notice with their best performance of the season last week. A 52-point outburst was a complete team effort as the Preds offense ignited by quarterback L.A. Anderson three touchdown passes, was backed up by a swarming defense that forced six Crush turnovers and added nine sacks.
Chris Haynes, Predators Defensive Lineman says "just nice that our defense was able to get our offense back on the field and keep doing what we do best. But what I was proud about was the three points that we put up."
The Predators were clicking on all cylinders, running back Vince Furby added 101 all-purpose yards, the combination of smash-mouth football and an aerial attack led by Anderson make the preds a dangerous team entering the playoffs.
L.A. Anderson, Predators Quarterback says "Definitely, I think us being able to run the ball, opens up the big plays for us down field because as we did play-action, they bit real hard so we had the plays open down field."
The road back to a championship and Elite Bowl won't come easy for the Predators, they travel to Appleton this Saturday to take on the Fox Valley Force. Chippewa Valley Tight End Ben Yetter says they welcome the challenge, "We're going to set the re-set button on the season and focus back on fundamentals, hard smash-mouth Predators football and hopefully we can keep the mo going."

Predators General Manager Matt Risen says the team is offering a fan bus to Appleton on Saturday. The bus will leave Gordy's on Hamilton at 11 am, the cost is 20 dollars. You can call Risen at (715) 559-7417 to reserve a spot, and yes, snacks and drinks will be served.
