Well, someday we might see today's Gordy's Athlete of the Week throwing strikes at the Major League level as SportScene13's Jenn Chapman profiles McDonell's pitcher, Kyle Cody.

Kyle Cody/Macks Pitcher: "It's an unbelievable feeling knowing that I could be either going to the MLB or going to Kentucky, so I could honestly say that I never thought that this would happen, but it's a dream come true."

McDonell High School's star quarterback, Western Cloverbelt's Basketball Player of the Year, and the number one pitching prospect in the state of Wisconsin, is all Kyle Cody.

Tyler Erickson/Macks Outfielder: "We were like the same size before but then now he just sprouted up and now he's like, well, he's Kyle."

The size 16 shoe wearing, 220lb, 6'7 senior, whose pitch has been clocked at 91 MPH, has already recorded 3 career no hitters, but leave it to his calm and humble demeanor to downplay such an accomplishment.

Kyle Cody/Macks Pitcher: "Obviously it's a good pitching outing but we try just forget about that game and move on to the next."

Tyler Erickson/Macks Outfielder: "It get's kinda boring in the outfield but it's cool watching Kyle just do his thing"

All eyes are on Cody, as he strikes out batter after batter, attracting the attention of the MLB scouts.

Kyle Cody/Macks Pitcher: "I notice that they're there but I try and act like they're parents or something, and after the game I'll talk to them and stuff and then I'll acknowledge them but when I'm pitching, I'll just try to focus on the game."

Eric Wedemeyer/Macks Baseball Coach: "You know, everybody knows what's going on and everybody understands the kind of things that we're gonna be facing as a team this year with the excitement and with the people that he's drawing to our games but you know with him, I was very impressed with the focus that he had."

Cody's concentration is just one aspect that has elevated his game. Coach and athlete both agree it all comes down to one factor.

Eric Wedemeyer/Macks Baseball Coach:"I think the big thing is just his confidence, I mean within the last 2 years, I think he really recognizes his potential."

Kyle Cody/Macks Pitcher: "Anything that you think you can do you can probably do if you put enough hard work in and you have confidence what you do and that's all, that's all you need."
