This past weekend was no different as the team was led by our Gordy's Athletes of the Week, senior Bailey Biwer and freshman Paul DeLakis.

This fall while on the sideline of a Glenwood City football game I noticed a player on the Hilltoppers secondary who had only one hand. As I covered the Hilltoppers on their journey to a second straight state title game, I watched in awe of Marcus Kadinger's effort and ability on the grid iron. Turns out Marcus isn't just a starter on the football team, meet one of the top scorers on Glenwood City's basketball team and our Gordy's Athlete of the Week, Marcus Kadinger.

Posted: 12/25/2013 - The world's oldest Olympic sport was on the chopping block this past year for future summer Olympics. The sport has since been reinstated, creating quite a commotion internationally and here in the states. In fact, youth wrestling participation is on the rise, and now former NCAA and Olympic stars are coming together to promote the sport. AGON Wrestling Championships has now hosted two events with the third one coming to Whitewater in January. Chippewa Falls native, Luke Smith is this week's Gordy's Athlete of the Week, as he comes out of retirement.
Updated: 12/20/2013 - Boys hoops headline SportScene 13 on this Thursday. Start at Eau Claire Regis, where the Osseo-Fairchild Thunder topped the Ramblers 60-53. Then off to Altoona, where the Rails topped Stanley-Boyd 79-48. In girls action, Colfax defeated their rivals in Elk Mound 51-28. In boys hockey, Chippewa Falls skated past Eau Claire North 5-1. Posted: 11/27/2013 - Midway through the high school football season we honored the Stanley-Boyd football team as our Gordy's Athlete of the Week. At that time they were undefeated, dominating opponents on offense and defense but would not talk about a state championship. Last week in Madison they won the state title and now they can talk about it. Congratulations to our first 2x Athlete of the Week honorees in the same season, the Stanley-Boyd football team.
