Badgers Drop to 19th Following Loss to Illinois

After suffering their first loss of the season 31-26 to Illinois, the Badger football team fell to No. 15 in the USA Today/Coaches Poll and No. 19 in the AP Poll. The Badgers had been ranked No. 5 in both polls prior to the loss at Illinois.

Illinois, previously unranked, is now No. 19 in the USA Today and No. 18 in the AP. Fellow Big Ten opponents, Ohio State moved up to the No. 3 spot in both polls while Purdue in No. 24 in the USA Today Poll and unranked in the AP Poll.

LSU is the nation’s top-ranked team, while California, Ohio State, Boston College and South Florida round out the rest of the top-five.

Wisconsin hasn’t been ranked outside the top-15 since Nov. 5, 2006.
