Regis Football Coach Resigns

Regis Catholic High School's football coach has resigned after one season.

The school released a statement today saying Stu Brown has resigned as the varsity football coach. Brown started in July following the resignation of long time coach Chris O'Connell.

Cynthia Hofacker, the President of the Catholic Area Schools of the Eau Claire Deanery, said, "Stu is a man of integrity. He treated our young men with respect and kept football in perspective."

The resignation comes on the heels of a season where the Regis football team finished with a record of two wins, and seven losses.

Brown came under pressure this season when one parent filed a complaint with the Owen Police Department after he says Brown and another coach shoved him after a game.
The parent says he was complaining about Brown's performance as a coach.

Hofacker says that Regis will be accepting applications for the position following their standard hiring process.
