Eleva-Strum Wins Division 7 State Championship Football Title

The Eleva-Strum Cardinals are the 2007 WIAA Division 7 State Champions after the Cards defeated Southwestern 41-6 at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.

The Cardinals scored on their opening drive of the game, as Nick Zander bulled his way to a nine yard touchdown run to give Eleva-Strum an early 6-0 lead. After the Wildcats tied it up, the Cardinals Lance Rongstad on the ensuing kickoff turned in the biggest play of the game, an electrifying 80-yard return for the touchdown that put Eleva-Strum ahead for good. Mitchell Klopp, Levy Cleasby, Nick Rogness, and Zander would score touchdowns the rest of the way as the Cardinals complete a perfect 14-0 season.
