Old Abes senior Jefferson Dahl enjoyed a night to remember. The Memorial forward scored four goals and three assists, breaking the school's scoring record and helping the Old Abes stay undefeated win a 7-2 win over Eau Claire North Tuesday night at Hobbs Ice Center.
The Old Abes jumped out to an early lead thanks to two 1st-period goals in the span of 17 seconds. Brady Keegan netted the first for Memorial, and then Dahl scored the first of his four to put the Abes on top 2-0.
But North came back to tie the game in the second period on a rebound goal by Derek Lund. Not phased by the Huskies effort in the rivalry game, the Abes responded with four goals in the period, capped off by Dahl's fourth goal of the game to put Memorial on top 6-2.
Shayne McLaughlin added another in the 3rd on an assist from Dahl, which was his seventh point of the night. Memorial, the number-one ranked boys hockey team in the state, moved to 6-0 on the season, while North is now 5-2.
