Regis, Eleva-Strum Cruise; Durand Upsets Rice Lake

It was a busy night on the hardwood as WIAA boys basketball regional action heated up Thursday, as the Durand Panthers made a statement in Division 2, knocking off top-seed Rice Lake 58-55 to move on to the regional finals.

The top-seed did not effect Eau Claire Regis, as the Ramblers had little trouble with Prescott 66-38 in their Division 3 regional semifinal. Regis advances to play Spring Valley, after the Cardinals used a late three-pointer to beat St. Croix Central 60-58.

Also in Division 3, Fall Creek moves on after beating Stanley-Boyd 60-55 in overtime. The Crickets will play Colby, who beat C.F. McDonell 85-75.

In Division 4, the Eleva-Strum Cardinals stayed perfect on the season, as the Cards flew past Augusta 63-21. The Cardinals will face Elmwood in the regional finals, as the Raiders beat Gilmanton 74-67.
