Crush Stay Unbeaten, Hold Off Predators 12-6 Save Email Print

The Eau Claire Crush improved to 7-and-0 in the Northern Elite Football League Saturday night, beating the Chippewa Valley Predators 12-6 in front of a packed house at Carson Park. The Crush got on the board 6-0late in the first quarter on a 5-yard touchdown pass from Ben Luehrs to Joe Salter. The Predators had several chances in the first half but quarterback Keldric Stokes was intercepted twice, once in the endzone and a second time by the Crush's David Hildebrandt.
The Crush took a 12-nothing lead in the final two minutes of the half, Luehrs threw his second touchdown of the game, this time to Chris Berry.
In the third quarter, the Predators would march into the Crush redzone again, but the Eau Claire defense led by Jason Lyons come up with the big sack.
In the final 90 seconds of the game, Chippewa Valley finally gets on the board, Stokes to the endzone, hooks up with Cory Brown on the 19-yard touchdown, but the Predators comeback comes up short, the Crush win 12-6.
