Express' losing streak reaches six games
The Eau Claire Express lost to the Thunder Bay Border Cats 7-0 Wednesday night as their losing streak reaches six games.

Randy Mower pitched eight shutout innings as the Border Cats got back in the win column Wednesday night, blanking the Eau Claire Express 7-0 at Port Arthur Stadium. Mower (St. Joseph's) evened his record at 3-3, allowing only five hits while walking two and striking out four. Drew Erwin (Nicholls State) completed the shutout pitching a scoreless 9th inning. Curtis Wagner (Santa Clara) hit a two-run home run in the 2nd inning, his 2nd of the season to put the Cats up 3-0. Derek Hamblen (Belmont) went 3-3 and scored three runs. Adam Courcha (New Mexico) had a 2-4 night at the plate while Eli Tupuola (Viterbo) drove in four runs with a two-run single and a pair of sacrifice flies. The Cats conclude their four game homestand tonight with the final game against the Express at 7:05 p.m. Luis Castillo (Bellevue) will make his first start of the season for Thunder Bay.
