Badgers Take Over Top Spot

The voters in the Associated Press men's college basketball poll have named Wisconsin the top team in college basketball for this week. The Badgers, who were number-three last week, moved past second-ranked Ohio State to take the top spot after last week's top-team, Florida, suffered a loss two days ago.

The results of the poll sets up a one-versus-two battle this Sunday in Columbus, Ohio, as the Buckeyes entertain the Badgers. Wisconsin beat Ohio State earlier in the season in Madison.

Wisconsin is 26-and-2 on the season and 12-and-1 in the Big-10, while Ohio State is 24-and-3 with a league record of 11-and-1. In the poll, the Badgers got 35 first-place votes and 17-hundred-and-47 points while the Buckeyes were given 31 first-place votes and 17-hundred-and-28 points. Number three Florida got four first-place votes this week, while fourth-ranked UCLA was given two. North Carolina is fifth this week.

The one-versus-two matchup this weekend is the first since last year, when then-number-one Duke beat number-two Texas. This marks the first time the Big-10 has had teams ranked 1-2.
