Patrick Souter received the ultimate compliment after leading Racine St. Catherine's to a convincing 50-35 victory over Regis in today's Division Three semifinals at the W-I-A-A boys' tournament.
Regis coach William Uelman says basically, Souter was the one who beat them. Souter scored a personal-best 21 points and made six straight free throws down the stretch.
The Angels (22-4) face undefeated La Crosse Aquinas (26-0) in the title game Saturday night.
The Angels won despite shooting 38 percent (15-40). But they had a 38-25 edge in rebounds.
