Twins Silenced in Windy City

Vazquez allowed just one hit over six and two-thirds, a leadoff single by Michael Cuddyer (kuh-DY'-ur) in the second inning. It was the Twins' lone hit until Luis Castillo beat out an infield single with two outs in the eighth.

The White Sox went ahead to stay on Paul Konerko's R-B-I single in the first. Juan Uribe (yoo-REE'-bay) added a leadoff homer in the eighth before Chicago scored its final run on a throwing error.

Losing pitcher Carlos Silva allowed five hits and one run in five innings.

Bobby Jenks worked the ninth for his first save.
