Brewers Losing Skid Reaches Five

Jake Peavy held Milwaukee to two hits in seven scoreless innings and hit an R-B-I double to help San Diego complete a three-game sweep of the N-L Central-leading Brewers with a 3-to-0 shutout.

Heath Bell and Trevor Hoffman finished up the combined three-hitter, with Hoffman picking up his 15th save in 17 chances and extending his career record to 497. Peavy is 7-and-1.

Adrian Gonzalez added a solo homer for the Padres, who earned their first sweep this season. They've won ten of their last 13 games.

It was the first time the Brewers were swept this season. Milwaukee opened the season at 24-and-10. Milwaukee lost its fifth straight game and 12 of 16.
