Vargas pitched 5 1-3 innings, giving up three runs and seven hits. It was his first victory since May 4th, a span of six starts.
Francisco Cordero recorded the final four outs for his major-league leading 22nd save in 22 chances. He lowered his E-R-A to point-3-7.
