In a Western Wisconsin pairing on the state stage...Thursday, Regis met their Division three State Championship fate with Aquinas...

In their last meeting in April the Blugolds knocked off Regis...and this time again...Aquinas got the best of the Ramblers to take the Division three State Baseball Title in a final of 8-7.

The Blugolds struck early scoring 2 runs in the top of the first, but Regis rolled back to retake the lead in the 3rd thanks RBIs from Kurt Roubal, Issac Hunter and Dan Sailer.

The game was an offensive foot race after that as the Blugolds and Ramblers tied the game once more in the seventh to send the championship into extra innings.

Aquinas plated the tie-breaking run in their 8th inning attempt when Matt Kachel singled to left for the RBI and the eventual game winner.

It was a bitter sweet ending for Regis coach Mark McHorney who announced after the loss that he is stepping down as the Rambler's head coach after 16 years with the team.
