The Milwaukee Bucks said they've made a global impact by selecting Yi (EE) Jianlian (TEE-an-LEE-an).
But that's only if they can get Yi, selected with the sixth pick in the N-B-A draft, to a city his handlers had shunned in the weeks leading up to tonight's N-B-A draft.
He has indicated a desire to play in a city with a heavy Asian influence, but the Bucks picked the 6-oot-11 forward to make him the fourth Chinese player to make the N-B-A.
Milwaukee has only about 28-thousand Asian-Americans ... so the unanswered question is whether he will ever wear a Bucks uniform.
He says he thinks he will, even though he's not yet familiary with the Milwaukee.
Bucks general manager Larry Harris says the selection will give his team a global audience once Yi is on the roster.
