Norway's Hakon Helgesen and U.S. Women's Ski Team member Lindsey Van were the big winners Sunday at the 124th Silver Mine Invitational in Eau Claire.
A day after the finals were postponed due to bad weather, Helgesen braved the snow and light rain to jump 90 meters in the finals, good enough to win the men's super tour event. The Norwegian edged out Petr Chaddaev of Moscow, who jumped 86.5 meters in the finals.
On the women's side, Lindsey Van went 82 meters to beat fellow U.S. teammates Abby Hughes and Karin Friberg for women's super tour title. Hughes was runner-up at 81 meters, with Friberg jumping 71 meters to take third.
In the junior competition, A.J. Brown was the winner, leaping 86.5 meters. Eau Claire's Adam Loomis finished sixth, jumping 78.5 meters, with his Flying Eagles teammate Ben Loomis going 70 meters, which was good enough for 10th place.
