Magglio Ordonez homered and drove in all three Detroit runs in the Tigers' 3-to-2 win over Minnesota. That ends Twins starter Johan Santana's five-start winning streak.
Santana is 11-and-7. He didn't get much support as the Twins stranded 14 men on base. They lost their third straight to the Tigers and trail the A-L Central leaders by eight games.
Andrew Miller threw five innings for the victory. He's 5-and-3. Todd Jones closed it out for his 25th save in 29 attempts.
Both teams suffered injuries. Detroit's Marcus Thames (tims) ended the eighth with a running shoestring catch but limped off with an injury. Twins All-Star Torii Hunter got hurt, too. He left in the fourth inning with a mild hamstring strain.
