Robbie Poirier scored 4:51 into the second overtime, lifting Wausau West over Eau Claire Memorial 4-3 in a semifinal of the WIAA state boys hockey tournament Friday night.

The Warriors (27-1-1) advance to play either Green Bay Notre Dame or Milwaukee University School for the state championship Saturday afternoon. It's the second state final appearance for Wausau West, which lost to Madison Memorial in the 2000 title game.

The Old Abes (22-6-1) had an 11-game winning streak snapped with their second loss of the season to the Warriors.

Senior forward Mitch Borneman had two goals, including an acrobatic short-handed goal that made it 3-1 in the second period, and assisted on the other two goals for West.

Memorial scored twice in a 1:19 span in the third period to force overtime — Seth Bollinger converted on a power play at the 11:12 mark, and Alexander Dahl tied it with an impressive wraparound goal with 4:29 remaining.
