Brewers Go 12 Innings in Loss

The Brewers had base runners in their last three innings but couldn't score any runs. In the eleventh, they loaded the bases with no outs but failed to score when Johnny Estrada grounded into a home-to-first double play and a pop-out ended the inning.

Grant Balfour came in to pitch the 12th for Milwaukee and gave up two walks, then threw too late to third on a bunt by David Ross, allowing the Reds to load the bases.

that's when Valentin pinch-hit and got the game-winner on Balfour's first pitch.

Reds starter Aaron Harang pitched ten innings after returning from his grandfather's funeral in San Diego.

Milwaukee's only run was on a homer by Ryan Braun in the fourth.
