Packers Open Training Camp Shorthanded

Packers coach Mike McCarthy was expecting to have all of his players on the field today for the first day of training camp.

That didn't happen because four players -- including two starters -- didn't pass physical tests yesterday.

Pro Bowl receiver Donald Driver sat out because of a lingering shoulder injury from last season.

Rookie running back DeShawn Wynn had what McCarthy said was a stomach virus.

McCarthy accepted those two absences, but he wasn't happy with defensive tackles Ryan Pickett and Johnny Jolly. They were held out because they failed a conditioning test consisting of eight runs across the width of the field.

Also during the practice, tight end Tory Humphrey suffered a potentially serious ankle injury.

McCarthy said it didn't look good, and that Humphrey was in a lot of pain.
