Kaylor Zimmerman scored 21 points and Aaron Gosse added 20 as Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran outlasted Clayton 64-63 in a WIAA state boys basketball tournament Division 4 semifinal game Thursday in Madison.
The Blazers survived a sustained fourth-quarter push by Clayton, which trailed by double digits for all but 27 seconds of the second and third quarters.
Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran (18-10), a first-time state qualifier, will play seven-time champion Randolph (28-0) in Saturday's championship game at the Kohl Center.
The Blazers went on a 17-0 run to end the first quarter and start the second, breaking open a close contest. The spurt gave Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran a 26-8 edge.
The Bears (25-2) pulled within 62-60 on Tyler Ketz's 3-pointer with 12.7 seconds left, but Ethan Derricks hit a pair of free throws with 6.4 seconds to go and Carter Anderson's leaning 3-pointer at the buzzer wasn't enough.
