The Green Bay Packers and Lambeau Field are preparing for Saturday's seventh edition of 'Packers Family Night, Presented by Fox 11.'
In addition to the main attraction, the intra-squad scrimmage, families this year for the first time will be able to enjoy the Packers Experience at Family Night, newly located this training camp in the parking lot near the Oneida Nation Gate on the stadium's east side. It will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Also new this year is the Copps-Pick 'N Save Family Night Picnic. Adjacent to the Packers Experience in Lambeau's east side parking lot, the picnic is scheduled from 2 to 6 p.m. and will serve food items (until 4 p.m.) priced at $1, including corn on the cob, Johnsonville Brats, Nicolet Water and Kemps Popsicles. The Dan Mitchell Sound will perform during the picnic. Proceeds will go the Roundy's Foundation (Roundy's is the parent company of Copps and Pick 'N Save) to support non-profit organizations working in the areas of hunger relief, families in crisis (intervention and prevention of neglect and abuse) and literacy.
Additionally, through "Homefront Heroes," the Packers are welcoming 900 family members of service men and woman who are currently deployed. The guests, all wearing gold t-shirts with the phrase "Homefront Heroes," will be seated in section 125 near the southeast corner of the stadium. They will be recognized on the TundraVision during the evening's programming.
For the general public, the parking lot to Lambeau Field will open at 7 a.m. The Lambeau Field Atrium, the Packers Hall of Fame and Frozen and Time will open at 9 a.m., followed by the Packers Pro Shop and Packers Pro Shop Extra Points at 9:30 a.m. The Atrium eateries will open at 10:30, with Curly's Pub and the Hall of Fame Grill following at 11 a.m.
The Atrium and its businesses will close at 2 p.m. to prepare for 'Family Night.' Stadium Tours will not be offered due to preparations for the event.
'Family Night' operations get underway at 3:45 p.m. with the opening of the Atrium, its restaurants and businesses, and stadium gates. In-stadium entertainment begins at 5 p.m. with the showing of the team's highlights film, "Pride and Progress." At 6 p.m., on-field entertainment begins with Pop Warner football teams and a Frisbee dog demonstration.
The Packers will take the field at 6:30 p.m. and run through various practice drills before returning to the locker room at 7:15 for a brief pre-scrimmage break. Also on the field, the popular mascot games will take place at 6:45 p.m. At 7:15 p.m., when the team returns to the locker room, the Oneida Nation Dancers will perform as renowned artist Brian Olsen also works on a large canvas artwork.
The scrimmage will "kick off" at approximately 7:45 p.m. A spectacular fireworks show will conclude the night.
