Already thin at running back, the Green Bay Packers got a scare today when Noah Herron fell to the ground in practice after a clothesline hit by safety Tyrone Culver.
After lying on the ground surrounded by the team's trainers for about two minutes, Herron got back up and was able to resume practice later in the session. Herron later said he was OK, and the hit just knocked the wind out of him.
Culver apologized to Herron after the hit, later saying it was an accident and he was just going for the ball.
With projected starter Vernand Morency and backups P.J. Pope and DeShawn Wynn all sitting out because of injuries, Herron is expected to share the majority of carries in Saturday's preseason game at Pittsburgh with second-round draft pick Brandon Jackson and Corey White, an undrafted free agent from the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
