The Brewers are hoping Prince Fielder's ejection from Sunday's game at Houston is just that -- one game.
Whether Fielder will be suspended for a few days for possibly bumping home plate umpire Wally Bell remains to be seen.
Bell called Fielder out on a close pitch to end the top of the eighth inning. And when Fielder said something, Bell tossed him from the game. That enraged Fielder who got in Bell's face before manager Ned Yost could intervene.
Fielder isn't one to lose his cool. He says he doesn't "jaw" about anything unless he's right. And, Fielder says he never touched Bell.
The Brewers keep their one and a-half game lead in the N-L Central, despite losing to the Astros 6-4. Milwaukee and the Cubs return to action Tuesday. The Brewers host St. Louis at 7:05
