Packers Lose Another Running Back

The Packers have lost another running back -- but general manager Ted Thompson says he's not worried.

The team placed third-down back Noah Herron on season-ending injured reserve today following arthroscopic knee surgery.

Vernand Morency was expected to be the feature back, but he suffered a knee injury on the opening day of training camp. He took part in today's jog-through and individual drills but it's not clear how much he'll be able to do against the Eagles at Lambeau Field next week.

Rookie second-round pick Brandon Jackson says he's ready to start. He went through all of today's practice, after missing the final preseason game with a concussion suffered in practice.

Coach Mike McCarthy says the team talked about running-back-by-committee since day one, and now it's time to put the committee into play.
