The Wisconsin men's basketball team will not get many style points in Saturday's 45-44 victory over Minnesota at the Kohl Center, but as coach Bo Ryan has stated many times in the past, his guys were able to put a "W" in the left hand column. In doing so, the Badgers handed the Gophers their 4th straight Big Ten loss.
Bo Ryan says, "This is the same Minnesota team that has been ranked pretty high, has a lot of players back, a very good team, so we played a team, Michigan State that was the same way, so to come out of these two 1-1, you say alright, can't change it but you can't get too high after this one. What do you think? They're in the locker room right now going man, didn't we shoot the lights out? Umm... man, maybe we'd shoot better if the lights went out. (giggles)
Wisconsin freshman Sam Dekker continues to be a huge contributor to the Badgers success. Dekker providing a spark off the bench on Saturday, 10 points, and 6 rebounds in 25 minutes. Dekker says,
"Try to provide a spark and I couldn't back down from those things, when I'm on the court I know I can do some things to help the team and so I have to stay out of trouble, today I managed to do that and brought some energy and did some good things."
