Badgers name Curt Phillips starter at quarterback

The Wisconsin Badgers carousel at quarterback will continue this Saturday in Bloomington when red-shirt senior Curt Phillips gets the call over Danny O'Brien. Phillips takes over for Joel Stave who suffered a season-ending collarbone injury against Michigan State.

"For our players and coaches it's a rally week, a chance to rally around our quarterback," says Badgers coach Bret Bielema. "Offense, defense, special teams all gotta be a part of it. What I've seen in Curt is strength, his ability, his mental toughness, (it) gives me a lot of confidence in what he's gonna do Saturday."

"I'm excited about it. When someone gets injured or hurt, or something like that, someones gotta step up," says receiver, Jarred Abbrederis. "Everyone's gotta be catching the ball. We gotta paint perfect pictures that he can have confidence in us, know where we're gonna be just to kind of make it easier for him."
