Badgers open fall camp under Gary Andersen

By  |

Fall camp is underway in Madison as the Wisconsin Badgers held their first practice under head coach Gary Andersen. UW's first-year coach says day one was about what he expected from his team, "Lots of energy, lots of excitement. You know the young guys played hard, they got to understand how to practice at our tempo, the direction we're heading. I thought the old guys were crisp and the veteran's definitely came out here with a purpose, threw the ball really well but when it became real football, 11-on-11, we threw the ball very average. The run game is hard to get a beat on without pads on but it looked like we were getting on the right people. Kids were competing on both sides of the football and there's a lot of want to in the kids."
