Chi-Hi Announces Interim Boys Basketball coach

Jason Proue has been named as the Interim Head Boys Basketball Coach at Chippewa Falls High School. Jason will serve in this capacity for the 2012-13 season filling the void created when Luke Madsen took a one-year sabbatical from his teaching and coaching duties at Chi-Hi.

Proue, a physical education instructor for the district, has served as a volunteer assistant coach under Madsen for the last two seasons. Proue played collegiately for four years (05-09) at UW-Superior where he was named to the All-Conference Academic team three times and was named as the team’s Most Improved Player for the 05-06 season.

“Jason’s familiarity with the kids in the program combined with his infectious enthusiasm and strong character made him the perfect choice to lead the program this year”, stated Chi-Hi Activities Director John Frizzell. Frizzell also commended Proue’s strong relationships with the players as one of the strengths he will bring to the program this year. “Jason is trusted and well-liked by the players, which will be valuable as the program goes through this transition.”

Joining Proue on the Boys Basketball staff will be another new hire, Bill Grimes. Grimes played high school basketball at Owen-Withee and played in the WBCA Division 4 All-Star game as a senior in 2005. Grimes is a school counselor for the school district. In addition to Grimes, Jordan Van Proosdy will be returning to the program as an Assistant Coach as well.

The Boys Basketball season begins on November 5th with the first day of practice. The Cardinals open their season on Friday, November 16th as they host La Crosse Logan.
