NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Darnell Coles will be the 2014 manager of the Nashville Sounds, the Triple-A Pacific Coast League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Sounds announced Thursday that Coles would replace Mike Guerrero, who managed Nashville the last two years. Guerrero has been promoted to the Brewers' major league coaching staff.

Coles has spent the last two seasons posting a 124-153 record as manager of the Huntsville Stars, the Brewers' Double-A Southern League team. Coles was the Brewers' minor league hitting coordinator in 2010 and 2011.

The 51-year-old Coles played 14 years in the major leagues and won a World Series with Toronto in 1993.

Nashville's coaching staff will return Bob Skube, pitching coach Fred Dabney, trainer Aaron Hoback and strength and conditioning specialist Andrew Emmick next season.
