Eau Claire Alliance boys swim team has high expectations for state

The WIAA Division 1 swimming and diving state championships will be held this Saturday at the UW-Natatorium in Madison. Coming off a third place team finish last year, the Eau Claire Memorial/North co-op team will be looking for another high finish this weekend.
The Eau Claire Alliance captured the sectional title this past weekend, winning six individual events. This weekend at state they will be represented in all three relays and ten individual swims. What is most impressive about this group, all of their individuals will be swimming in the fast heat, giving them a chance to put up team points and take down favored Madison Memorial.
Dylan Leonard, Eau Claire Alliance head coach says, "This team has the most athletes that I've ever coached, in the final heat and have the most potential to score. It's not the most I've had make it down to state but the most that can potentially score down at state."
Five-time state champ, senior Alex Delakis says, "We need to swim fast and I believe with all the training that we've been doing we can achieve that quite easily. I know we need to get our relays placing high and scoring points for our team."
Teammate Trevor Manz adds, "Everyone's gotta give it their all. Like Dylan always says, no asking questions after the race, like what if I would have done that. Just leaving it all in the water, trusting in our tapers and resting this week and just going after it."
