Fredrick making an early impression

The Wisconsin football team is nine days away from their season and home opener against Northern Iowa... Badgers head coach Bret Bielema made it official earlier this week, naming transfer quarterback Danny O'Brien as his starter.

Meanwhile, redshirt freshman wide receiver Jordan Fredrick continues to open eyes during camp, getting all the work with the number-one offense. The 6-foot, 3-inch receiver from Madison Memorial High School was close to playing last year as a true freshman until suffering a shoulder injury. Now Fredrick is lining up across from Jared Abbrederis in the starting line-up.

"There's no words to explain being from this town, being from this city," says Fredrick. "Seeing everything around it, it's a lot of pressure but it will be a huge deal if i play."

"Well, Jordan just wants to get better. See it everyday," says quarterback Danny O'Brien. "He attacks the field, he listens to coaching, what we're saying in the huddle doesn't make the same mistake twice and I think that's half the battle. You really have to want to get better and he's got those tools."
