Good time for Blugolds football to have a bye week

Coming off a heartbreaking 17-14 loss to St. John's last Saturday, it's probably a good time for the UW-Eau Claire football team to have their bye week. The Blugolds will have two weeks to prepare for their home opener on September 28th against Pacific Lutheran.

"Yeah I think it's good, get our mind right, get us focused. We need that focused, you know," says running back, Joel Sweeney. "We had plenty of chances, turnovers by St. Johns that we could have taken advantage of that we didn't. So we gotta make sure that we make good on those opportunities. We gotta do some extra conditioning this week, keep working, get after our bye week and then get to our next game and try to get a W."
