Gov. Haley bets barbecue and beer on bowl game

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is betting some barbecue and beer that the Gamecocks will win their bowl game.

Haley placed the friendly wager Tuesday with her colleague in Wisconsin. The South Carolina Gamecocks face the Wisconsin Badgers in the Capitol One Bowl in Orlando, Fla., on Wednesday.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker put beer, brats and cheese on the line.

Haley says she's confident she'll be enjoying that fare as the Gamecocks (10-2) end their season with a win. South Carolina is ranked No. 8. Wisconsin is No. 19.

Walker says the Badgers (9-3) are up to the challenge, and he's confident they'll come out ahead.

This is the Gamecocks' second Capital One Bowl appearance in three seasons, after beating Nebraska two years ago. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
