Hurry-up offenses are hurting the Vikings

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- Minnesota's defense has been glaringly vulnerable to giving up scores in the critical closing moments this season.

The Vikings were at their worst during the two-minute drills by Indianapolis and rookie quarterback Andrew Luck in Sunday's loss. The Colts drove for a touchdown with seven seconds left in the first half to stretch their lead and then won on a field goal with eight seconds remaining in the game.

Coach Leslie Frazier didn't hesitate Monday when asked to identify his biggest concern about the defense. With a young team, a developing quarterback and a run-first approach, the Vikings aren't going to be able to enjoy many, if any, lopsided victories.

So they must play better two-minute defense to succeed.
