I-94 rivalry resumes Saturday in Menomonie as Blue Devils host Blugolds

UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stout will renew their I-94 football rivalry for the 91st time this Saturday in Menomonie. And while the two teams have combined for only conference win this year, the close proximity of the two schools always makes it a big game. The Blugolds have won the last two meetings and want to keep the 94 trophy back in Eau Claire.

Blugolds coach Todd Glaser, "We talked about that too, it doesn't matter if we're 7-0 or 1-6, they're going to be ready, it's going to be exciting. It's a rivalry and I know our kids will be ready too. You don't want to be the team that after the game has to watch the other go grab the trophy and celebrate, but that's not why you play or anything like that, but it's part of it."
Blue Devils quarterback Hank Kujak says he and his teammates want the trophy back, "Since I've been here, it's hasn't been in Stout, it's in Eau Claire, I know for a lot of guys they would like to have it back, and I know the kids in Eau Claire want to keep it. Playing for the trophy means something special, it excites the rivalry a little more than what is has been so."
